Andrea has been a leader in the nonprofit and education field for over 15 years. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, staff and board development, fundraising, and budgeting. She began her career as a middle school theatre teacher, transitioning to the museum field where she served as an educator, grant writer, administrator, fundraiser, and community liaison. Before coming to Colorado Youth Matter, Andrea served as the Executive Director of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Foundation, raising funds and distributing grants for improved animal health.
She volunteers her time in the community as the co-vice president of education on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Colorado Chapter and the chair of the Collaborative School Committee at her daughter's elementary school.
She holds a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of North Texas. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, reading, visiting museums, and spending time with her husband and two young children.
