Ren Allen is currently participating in the Excelling Leaders Institute and the Pioneer Leadership Program as a freshman at the University of Denver. She first started advocating for comprehensive youth sexual and reproductive health education in 2015 as a member of Mississippi First’s Mississippi Youth Council (MYC). As part of MYC she conducted surveys and petitions, spoke to students and teachers to gather information about the current state of sex education, and advocated within communities as well as at the capitol for Sexual Education reform. She joined Colorado Youth Matter in order to serve on the Maximizing Success federal project and learn more about the promotion of healthy sexual development and education for young people. While being an avid runner and writer, Ren looks forward to studying abroad and working with youth sexual and health education.
